Heartland Technology Group
I just returned from Seattle, WA from our latest Heartlands
Technology Group (HTG) quaterly meeting – UNICOM is part of HTG19.
There are 12 of us and we meet quarterly at pre-arranged
locations. Since becoming a HTG member in 2008, HTG has had
a positive influence on both my business and me as an individual.
Because of this, I mention HTG a lot during conversations with peers,
suppliers and friends, and so I get asked “What is HTG?” and “What
happens at HTG meetings?” a lot.
We share with each other our standard operating procedures. Now, we're
not all geniuses, but collectively we see the stuff that works and the
stuff that doesn't. There are plenty of Ah-Ha
moments. We talk about how we get new clients, how we
market, how we hire and fire, and how we do just about everything
else. It is an environment in which members can safely ask
for help and share their weaknesses. A surprisingly large amount of
success consists of recognizing and analyzing failures in order to
improve.
Our process is structured so that we give each other the truly useful
information (good, bad & ugly) in order to help make each others'
businesses be more successful. We set goals and are held
accountable. And the relationships continue after the
meeting is over. We call each other during times of success and
stress. We ask each other for advice and help each other out.
OK, time to start executing my goals which are due by our next meeting which will be in Orlando, FL.

5 ways Internet Explorer helps you get more done
I use Microsoft Internet Explorer all day long, every day.
I’ve arranged all the settings just how I like them, and once I’ve done
that I don't like to change. I'm the kind of girl who just wants
technology to work when I need it; I'm not into installing all the
latest gadgets and upgrades so I can one-up my friends. So whenever I
hear there is a new version of Internet Explorer, my first reaction is,
"I don't need that."
